Women’s Ministry
The Ladies of Liberty Women's Ministry seeks to work with women to accomplish the overall mission of the church, to work together to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God. The Ladies of Liberty accomplish this through Bible studies, Sunday school classes, the Women's Missionary Union ministries, and other events.
The “Ladies of Liberty” women’s ministry offers opportunities for women to be discipled and participate in fellowship, worship and ministry opportunities. Events take place at Liberty Baptist Church and at other conference locations. More information can be found on the “Ladies of Liberty” Facebook page and in the Proclaimer as event dates are approaching.

Bible Studies
Our women’s Bible studies provide a welcoming space for women of all ages to grow deeper in God’s Word and in fellowship with one another. Each study is designed to help women understand Scripture in a practical and life-giving way, equipping them to apply biblical truth to their daily lives. Through group discussions, prayer, and encouragement, women are strengthened in their faith and reminded that they are not alone on their spiritual journey. Whether meeting weekly or seasonally, our Bible studies cultivate meaningful friendships and a stronger walk with Christ as we learn, share, and grow together. Bible studies are offered with starting dates in the Fall, Spring, and Summer. For more specific information, request the most recent Groups newsletter available through the church office or contact Melissa Small at 434-665-5779.
Women's Fellowship Gatherings
Our women’s ministry offers a variety of community events designed to foster fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth. From lighthearted game nights that spark laughter and connection, to peaceful hikes that invite women to enjoy God’s creation together, we create opportunities for meaningful relationships. Creative gatherings like crafting nights provide a space to relax and share talents, while retreats give women the chance to step away from daily routines and experience renewal. We also host engaging activities such as theater outings and seasonal programs, all with the purpose of building community, deepening faith, and creating lasting bonds among women of all ages. For more information, request the most recent Events newsletter available through the office or contact Melissa Small at 434-665-5779.
Mom Life
Mom Life is a ministry created to encourage and equip mothers of school-aged children through community, biblical encouragement, and creative connection. Together, moms can share the joys and challenges of parenting in a supportive environment where faith and friendship grow side by side. These gatherings provide fun activities such as crafting workshops that inspire both creativity and fellowship, opportunities for prayer, devotionals, and testimonies from seasoned moms offering practical parenting advice. By walking together through this season of motherhood, women find refreshment, encouragement, and lasting friendships that remind them they are not alone in raising the next generation. There are two group meeting times, twice monthly on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings. For more information contact Brittney Detweiler at 727-686-9979 for Mom Life Tuesday Mornings and Tiffany Harriman at 607-759-0408 for Mom Life Wednesday Evenings.
Mentoring
Our women’s mentoring ministry is built on the power of discipleship and authentic relationships that span all ages and stages of life. We believe that every woman has something to give and something to receive, whether she is a young adult just beginning her faith journey, a mother navigating the busyness of family life, or a seasoned believer with wisdom to share. Through intentional one-on-one mentoring and small group connections, women are encouraged to grow in their walk with Christ, share life experiences, and build lasting friendships. This ministry fosters a culture of encouragement and accountability where women can learn from one another, pray together, and walk side by side as they pursue Christ-centered lives. Infertility/Miscarriage Ministry
Our infertility and miscarriage ministry exists to walk alongside women and families who are navigating the deep pain of loss and waiting. Through a caring community, we provide a safe space to share stories, grieve openly, and find encouragement from others who understand. Practical care packages are available as tangible reminders that no one walks this journey alone, while resources and referrals h9elp connect women with guidance and support for both emotional and spiritual healing. Trained mentors who have walked similar paths are also available to offer one-on-one encouragement, prayer, and hope. This ministry is rooted in compassion, offering both practical help and a community of faith that reminds each woman she is seen, valued, and never alone. For more information, please contact Amanda Schaap at 434-401-5679.
Meal Trains
Our women’s ministry is committed to meeting real-life needs through the gift of meal trains. Whether celebrating the joy of a new birth, supporting someone recovering from surgery, or walking alongside families facing long-term care needs, we believe that providing a warm meal is a tangible way to share Christ’s love. Coordinated meal trains allow our church family to come together in service, lifting burdens during busy or difficult seasons and reminding each woman and family that they are seen, cared for, and not alone. This ministry embodies compassion in action, turning everyday meals into opportunities for encouragement, fellowship, and grace. For more information, contact Rebecca O'Brien at 301-491-6939.

Life as a single mother can be filled with both beautiful victories and overwhelming challenges. At Liberty Baptist Church, we believe no woman should walk this journey alone. Our Single Mothers Ministry is a safe and welcoming space where moms can find encouragement, practical resources, and spiritual nourishment rooted in God’s Word. Whether you're seeking emotional support, biblical guidance, or simply a community that understands, we’re here to walk alongside you with love and grace.
