Student Ministry

Sunday School

Students meet weekly for Sunday School at 8:30am and 10am on the second floor of the Ministry Center. This offers a time for fellowship with a light breakfast, prayer, and engaging Bible lessons taught by a team of teachers. After a welcome and announcements are shared, small groups are formed to share prayer requests, and personal updates, and youth leaders teach a Bible lesson with times of interaction.

Sunday Nights

Awana Trek and Awana Journey are middle school and high school discipleship programs, respectively. Trek (grades 6–8) tackles foundational questions about faith, while Journey (grades 9–12) equips teens to build biblical convictions, serve their communities, and engage with modern culture. These Awana ministries meet on Sunday nights from 6pm - 7:30pm. For details, contact Rachel Koester at rekoester1@gmail.com or 434-851-2239.

Wednesday Nights

Students meet each Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8pm. We begin with activities and social time in the gym of the Ministry Center. By 7pm, we move upstairs in the youth area for light refreshments. Announcements, praise reports, and birthdays are shared. Then, we are led in a time of worship through music. Youth leaders and special guests provide a message from God’s Word relevant to issues that students face today. And then, we break up into small groups for prayer requests, personal updates, and reflection on the message shared.

Liberty Baptist is launching the Worship Arts Collective, meeting on Sundays at 5pm in the fellowship hall and choir room located next to the church office. This opportunity is for grades 6-12 led by Melissa Bailey, Melissa Small and friends— where music meets ministry, and fun meets faith! Whether you're a student new to singing or already love using your voice, this is the perfect place to grow. You'll learn basic music reading skills, discover how to sing in harmony, and build confidence in your musical talents — all while being part of a supportive, uplifting community. But it's more than just music. This choir will offer exciting ministry opportunities, worship leading and creative performances that will let students share God's love through song. And of course, it will be lots of fun with plenty of snacks, games, and friendship. Come sing with us, grow with us, and make memories with other youth!
