Searching for Peace and Liberty

Are you searching for peace? Our greatest need is to make peace with God himself. Or lack of peace with God is what hinders our liberty. The Bible tells us that peace with God is possible.

Romans 5:1 says "Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Understanding We Have All Sinned

We need to make peace with God because our sin has created separation from God. Sin is the breaking of God's commands. All of us have sinned.

Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Romans 3:10-11 says, "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God."

Realizing Sin Has a Penalty

Sin has consequences in the life of a person. Sin separates man from God and results in death. Sin not only produces physical death, it produces spiritual death. A person who dies without dealing with their sins spend eternity apart from God.

Romans 6:23 says, "For the consequences of sin is death."

Finding Liberty - Freedom From the Penalty of Sin

We are not able to deal with our sin problem in our own power. The Bible tells us that God has already provided a solution to our sin problem.

Romans 5:8 says, "But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us."

Finding Forgiveness - Forgiveness is Free

Jesus did not come to condemn us in our sin, but to save us from it. God's Word to us is a message of salvation not a message of condemnation. While Jesus has provided a way for salvation, we must accept it.

John 3:16-17 says, "For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him."

Admitting and Believing To Access Liberty

You must turn from your sin and trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord. To become a Christian you must express faith in Jesus' work on your behalf. You must believe that Jesus' death on the cross and his resurrection provide the sacrifice for your sins and victory over death.

Romans 10:9 says, "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Finding Liberty through prayer

If you desire to become a Christian you need to sincerely express a prayer like this...

"Dear Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner. I know the penalty of my sin of separation from you. I believe that Jesus died on the cross, paid my penalty for sin and rose from the dead conquering death and giving me liberty.  In this moment, by faith, I accept what Jesus has done for me. Thank You for giving me eternal life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN."
